I believe that the actual number of elements in a (PICK-Style) dimensioned
array is limited by the number of consecutive "slots" available in the
VARTAB, which starts out with 64K "slots", and decreases for each variable,
etc, defined. In practice you could have a dimensioned array of 64K, but
really that's not possible since it's usual for a program to have numerous
variables; 32K is more believable. In any case, switching over to
Prime-style dimensioned arrays gives you much more flexibility as it only
consumes a single "slot" in the VARTAB.

From memory the maximum number of elements in a dimensioned array is
16384. This is documented in one of the manuals; again from memory I
think it's the UniVerse System Description.
