FYI I just looked at my 4250 and I am using HP Drivers (PCL 6) I am using winprint Raw for my print processor. I use separator pages to control the print type so I use the 3 different printer definitions.

I've never installed an HP 2420tn or an HP4250dtn so I can't speak about that particular driver, but my experience with other HP printers has been different.
