I wish I still had the Sheffield Editor. That was the best of both worlds - a full-screen editor, with all the power of the basic ED line editor at your fingertips. By the way, nobody has mentioned ED - you know, the line editor that comes with UniVerse ... (the OP didn't say it was UniData). If you want to know how to use ED, it should be documented in the UniVerse documentation somewhere, look for the ED manual. I think it's a fairly standard editor, but to someone from a DOS/Unix background it will probably feel a bit strange - a weird dialect ...
