xterm emulates a VT220, well it does for Hummingbird's Exceed X Emulator, which I use (although, not for U2 stuff).
I guess your application has hardcoding for this Wyse 60 emulation? For various historical reasons, we are currently using a hacked version of the wyse60 emulation. This works OK with our U2 app but fails on any other app that properly uses terminfo.
