We do NOT want to start a new newsgroup, imho. Better consolidate what we've got, rather than fragment it. The advantage (and disadvantage) of the oliver groups was that it was solely u2. Great for u2-specific problems, but if the problem was more generic there is an awful lot of expertise out there that you were shielded from.
Given that u2ug operates at least one mailing list, I would hope we can just take over the lists - that would be the best option from my point of view ...
