Fair question Kees, I don't have the answer to that, would need to do some research.... (here is some interesting read http://www.mike-willis.com/Tutorial/RT%20Propagation%20Lecture.pd f )
However, it is quiet possible that the question itself could not be relevant... ----------- 24Ghz is affected by rain, as well as moisture content of the air (oxygen +humidity). So based on what the allowed tx power in the un-licensed band, could possibly create a limit on how long the longest link could be, which may not be long enough to be affected by ducting. ----------- Trango has a very interesting chart, you may be able to get a feel for answer to the distance question. https://www.trangosys.com/sites/default/files/TrangoStrataLink24-Distance-Capacity-Chart.pdf BTW, Trango or others may be able to give you a better answer in regards to inversion / ducting, by giving you such info in regards to their 23ghz license product ( which should have similar characteristics as 24ghz, with the exception of licensed links are allowed more tx power) https://www.trangosys.com/sites/default/files/TrangoStrataLink24-Distance-Capacity-Chart.pdf Regards Faisal Imtiaz Snappy Internet & Telecom 7266 SW 48 Street Miami, FL 33155 Tel: 305 663 5518 x 232 Help-desk: (305)663-5518 Option 2 or Email: [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Kees H" <[email protected]> > To: "Ubiquiti Users Group" <[email protected]> > Sent: Wednesday, October 22, 2014 11:09:35 PM > Subject: Re: [Ubnt_users] Airfiber 24 or 5 > Curious > Is 24 GHz subject inversion problems? > How far could a AirFiber 24 go if you don't account for rain fade? > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > From: RickG > > > To: Ubiquiti Users Group > > > Sent: Wednesday, October 22, 2014 8:02 PM > > > Subject: Re: [Ubnt_users] Airfiber 24 or 5 > > > Ya, the 3 times my link dropped it rained so hard it reminded me of Florida > > :) > > > On Wed, Oct 22, 2014 at 10:48 PM, Faisal Imtiaz < [email protected] > > > > > wrote: > > > > Let's put this into context...
