Don't believe in coincidences.... rain.... drop side... moisture or loose
ant nut. Latter is more common as techs sometimes forget to wrench 1/4
turn... finger tight will loosen. Also, many radios come with the curl nut,
under the male antenna plug on radio, is loose and under it is a tiny
rubber washer. So what happens is you tighten ant cable properly, but the
under curl nut is up some micro meters, enough for moisture to get in. You
should check every radio's curl nut with a small pliers before attaching
ant cable.
