Water in the jumper or the jumper itself was broken?

Ya, I've had a few jumpers fall apart lately too!

    It was a jumper.

        Depends.

The chains are two different axes. You could get some thing
close enough to favor only one.

It's a stretch but certainly possible.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think a reflection or
path obstruction would effect one chain leaving the other

With all this rain all the critters are dead.

Check your airview (does af5x have airview? I forget).
That would be some pretty nasty interference to cause that.

Also, reflection of some kind. Is there something new in
            the way?

Also, besides weather, critters can sometimes cause
            issues on chains as well.

I do 1/4 turn after finger tight. I'm currently working
on a similar issue that I believe is interference
however it only shows on any/all of the lower
frequencies. Higher freqs are fine :(

I have always done finger tight because I read
somewhere in ancient times overtightening is really
bad (not sure why). It's it generally practiced to
tighten a little bit, ie quarter turn?

more common as techs sometimes forget to wrench
1/4 turn... finger tight will loosen. Also, many
radios come with the curl nut, under the male
antenna plug on radio, is loose and under it is
a tiny rubber washer. So what happens is you
tighten ant cable properly, but the under curl
nut is up some micro meters, enough for moisture
to get in. You should check every radio's curl
nut with a small pliers before attaching ant cable.

I replaced one side and jumpers. Can't do
anything in this heavy rain on the other side :(
