@Martin Olsson. No, when I boot the live CD it works just fine, but only
if I select the "Try Ubuntu without changing anything" option. It still
fails if I ask it to boot from first hard disk.

df command results:

Fatal server error
Could not create lock file in /tmp/.tx0-lock

giving up.

When I try the command apport-collect 372013 it gives me the command not found
error. Anything else you'd like me to try?

Subject: [Bug 372013] Re: Ubuntu fails to launch server x

@LegendaryOdin, does this also happen when you boot the jaunty live CD?
Also, can you attach output of the "df" command?

Finally, can you trigger this bug again and when X fails to start, please run
this command:
apport-collect 372013
(it will collect additional data about the data and about your hardware etc)

** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Incomplete

Status in “xorg” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs

After boot info and pswd is given it reads:

Cannot create a temp file, the connection has been refused, ERRNO111.
Unable to connect to x server

No such process ERRNO 3. Server error

Error in locking authority file/home/aidake/.Xauthority. Fatal server
error. Could not create lock file in /tmp/.tXO-lock

Than it takes me back to the command prompt.

This is release 9.04

This problem came up once before when I had to manually shut it down but
I booted from the original disk and restarted and that fixed it. Wasn't
the case this time.
