Again, the command isn't found. I had a hunch something went wrong with the upgrade. If there's no help for it than is there atleast a way to get my files off from the drive before reinstalling? I can boot up with the Try without changing anything option but I can't boot from the initial disk.

For example "apport-collect" is a command which was not available in intrepid and it's available by default in jaunty. Also you have "/lib/modules/2.6.27-11-generic/volatile" listed in your "df" output which sounds like an intrepid machine (for jaunty you should have .28 kernel). What does "lsb_release -a" print?
