I have not tried overclocking yet because I can't get temperature
monitoring working in Linux ( damn bios vendors for not following the
ACPI standard ), and the frequency scaling works fine for me.

On the other hand, I can't suspend unless I disable the USB 3
controller.

Are you booting with grub-efi, or bios?

Just tried coretemp and pkgtemp, good tip, that does the trick.  Now to
try some overclocking.
