@phyzik : It's just a question of what problem are we solving here? In what way
does removing the splash improve user experience or Can developer time be spent
on something which can have a bigger impact.
Regarding the issue you've raised is about consistency, I'v searched GNOME HIG
and was unable to find any reference to splash screens being against HIG.
This seems more of a personal preference. For removing the splash, you
can remove it. If you google "remove libreoffice splash" or OOo one ,
you get ways to remove this.
