** Description changed:
Binary package hint: libreoffice
- After upgrade from Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit to Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit I have
- noticed that all of my previous thesis work had all of the Greek symbols
- changed from italic to no italic. I suppose that happened because there
- was iGreek character set introduced. With a bit of frustration I changed
- all of the parameters to italic. However, my problems did not end there.
- I've noticed that some iGreek letters are wrongly rendered when they
- have circumflex on them (e. g. {hat %ilambda}) or elements in power (e.
- g. {%itheta^(b)}). In the first case, circumflex is not visible at all
- or only the very bottom of it can be seen in the print or PDF export of
- the document. In the second case elements in power intersect with the
- symbol.
+ 1) lsb_release -rd
+ Description: Ubuntu 11.04
+ Release: 11.04
- The problem can be fixed with a workaround like inserting "~" or "`"
- symbols to make elements not intersect each other or taking an iGreek
- letter to an empty (e. g. {^{{""}}^{""}}) power to make circumflex
- visible.
+ 2) apt-cache policy libreoffice-writer
+ libreoffice-writer:
+ Installed: 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu5
+ Candidate: 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu5
+ Version table:
+ *** 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu5 0
+ 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty-proposed/main i386
+ Packages
+ 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
+ 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu4 0
+ 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/main i386 Packages
- I have attached an ODT document with example for everyone to see what I
- mean. I've also attached pictures of what I mean.
+ 3) What is expected to happen in LibreOffice Writer via the Terminal:
+
+ cd ~/Desktop && wget
+
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/778979/+attachment/2119391/+files/test.odt
+ && lowriter -nologo test.odt
+
+ double click third icon down (theta with a superscript) -> click Format
+ -> Spacing... -> change the Spacing combo box to 200% -> OK button and
+ the spacing between the theta and the superscript should change.
+
+ 4) What happens instead is it does not budge.
+
+ WORKAROUND: Add a space in the formula.
+
+ %itheta^{{" "}a}
