Running Unity within the KDE shell works, but it doesn't seem to be what I'm really looking for.
But now, I'm lucky, since I found this tip, while googling for another strange error message, in http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2130894&p=12581777#post12581777 Install ubuntu-sdk! This installation seems to fix all the problems I had with KDE-apps in Unity, including "blank highlighted text on mouse-hover", dolphin's endless start, systemsettings problems, even an MTP connection to my S2 with mtp:/GT-I9105P/ works. I'll try it and report problems, if they still exist.
