My latest statement could be called "harsh" I guess. Sorry for that but
as really like Ubuntu things like this made me look for viable long-term
alternatives (which I never considered since Dapper Drake until now). I
wouldn't post here probably if I didn't care for Ubuntu so I'm going to
stay with You for longer in hope the development will eventually fill
the gaps.

That said mentioned lxd behaviour is just bad UX decision in my opinion. Either
removing lxd snap should at least warn and allow manual cancelling further
action altogether or just leave user data (in this case all created
containers/storage pools) intact (still with ability to display a warning).
It's totally different behaviour from regular server applications installed
from deb packages that when removed just leave data in /var/lib or whereever
they keep their data in (when we remove such package the dpkg just displays a
warning about inability to delete dirs in ie. /var/lib/appname due to not being
empty (rightfully so as it apparenly contain files that didn't came with the
deb package in the first place so it's probably user data which should be
treated with care).

I still think snap is NOT ready product yet. I hope it will be in time
for next LTS though.
