@onionfx: For additional info, if you feel confident booting into a black screen and logging in blind, blindly starting a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and blindly typing `sudo apport-collect 2128729` (without the quotes), blindly typing your password and then waiting a minute or so for the uploads to happen, and then blindly typing `sudo reboot`, then please boot into a black -160 and go ahead.
(That you can get a working screen with the -160 kernel is because X then uses the ati driver instead of the amdgpu driver. In your system info it says: "X: loaded: ati, vesa", and "gpu: N/A". When using the -157 kernel it will say: "X: loaded: amdgpu, ati", and "gpu: amdgpu". It is in the kernel part of the amdgpu driver that something goes wrong.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2128729 Title: Kernel 5.15.0-160 boots without any video output (on AMD) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2128729/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
