@onionfx: For additional info, if you feel confident booting into a
black screen and logging in blind, blindly starting a terminal
(Ctrl+Alt+T) and blindly typing `sudo apport-collect 2128729` (without
the quotes), blindly typing your password and then waiting a minute or
so for the uploads to happen, and then blindly typing `sudo reboot`,
then please boot into a black -160 and go ahead.

(That you can get a working screen with the -160 kernel is because X
then uses the ati driver instead of the amdgpu driver.  In your system
info it says: "X: loaded: ati,vesa", and "gpu: N/A".  When using the
-157 kernel it will say: "X: loaded: amdgpu,ati", and "gpu: amdgpu".  It
is in the kernel part of the amdgpu driver that something goes wrong.)
