I have a similar problem, but without the encrypted file system. On my Dell XPS 8930, I was running Ubuntu 25.04 without issue, but after upgrading to 25.10 the machine failed to boot.
In the boot log, it shows the following error: faux_driver dell-pc: platform_profile probe failed Starting the machine using the Grub menu and selecting "Advanced options for Ubuntu" and then "Ubuntu, with Linux 6.14.0-35-generic" works perfectly. I can boot into 25.10 without issue for now, but only by selecting the older 6.14 kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2129972 Title: Ubuntu 25.10 can't boot with 6.17.0-6-generic kernel on encrypted fs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2129972/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
