Hello Daniel Letzeisen

Thanks for your response; however the information returned does not help
me because I am a PC user not a 'GEEEK'!
The main problem for me is the fact that I am unable to 'MOUNT' the
drive on the PC and it seems unlikely that I can perform a 'Chkdsk'.

My PC is Using a KUBUNTU OS version 24.04.1 as stated and not Windows.

I believe that I have wasted your time because I hoped for guidance to
:-
     1. Indicate if the fault was with the PC,
or 2. the external hard drive.

Thank you for responding so quickly.
