@Daniel, I have deleted the extensions (Places indicator and Gnome-clipboard) and restarted the computer, but the problem remains. I have attached a screencast showing the problem. I start with 2 apps open in the first workspace, which I cannot drag to the next. The I open an app in the second workspace, and I then can see adjacent workspaces. Dragging the newly opened app in the first worspace triggers the bug again
