somewhere in the kernel bug reporting guidelines, there is a suggestion
to try the latest mainline kernels to see if the bug exists in pure
upstream linux. The app "mainline" makes this easy. I have an AMD laptop
which is actually crashing under the 26.04 kernel (infrequently) so I'm
trying the latest mainline 7 kernel 7.0.6 to see if it helps. I'll also
try to the official 7.0.17 image which is in proposed.
