I have upgraded to 6.7.0 and tried using Wayland. I logged in and
rearranged all my windows how I like them across the 4 desktops that I
have. I logged out. On logging back in again all my windows where on
desktop 1 and centred (if not full screen). For konsole it didn't
remember I had 5 open,it just opened 1 dead centre on desktop 1. Kate,
dolphin, kontact, brave, firefox and slack all opened on desktop 1. This
is really frustrating, particularly as the plan is to remove X11 in 6.8.
A window manager should be able to remember and position the windows it
is responsible for. This should not be the responsibility of the
individual apps. They should be able to tell the window manager if they
want to override the current settings (e.g. like happens for maximise,
minimise, move) but by default the window manager should handle their
size and positioning and remember them for the next session by default.
So I have reverted back to X11. Thanks.
