100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also want to switch to Wayland because of HDR and
similar things, however it is not possible for now.

So this is what you are saying: you are going to totally ignore millions
of users who do not contribute in code, right?! Open source appeals
users to contribute at least in reporting bugs. And we do more here: we
propose the technical solution like you're asking and do it from the
very beginning of this ticket. However it is still ignored!!! Who needs
the feature not asked and not demanded by the users???!!!
