Public bug reported:

aioprocessing 2.0.1-2build1 fails to build from source in stonking.

Regressing architectures: amd64 (Architecture: all; no previous version in the
release pocket).
Build log:
  -
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/aioprocessing/2.0.1-2build1/+build/32793366/+files/buildlog_ubuntu-stonking-amd64.aioprocessing_2.0.1-2build1_BUILDING.txt.gz
Diagnosis (deterministic matcher): testsuite-failure — FAILED
tests/pool_test.py::GenAioPoolTest::test_ctx - RuntimeError: There is ...

Root cause: with Python 3.14, asyncio.get_event_loop() raises RuntimeError when
no event loop is set in the main thread (it previously created one implicitly).
tests/_base_test.py BaseTest.setUp() calls asyncio.get_event_loop(), so 20 of 23
tests fail in dh_auto_test.

Fix available upstream (unreleased, after v2.0.1):

https://github.com/dano/aioprocessing/commit/10b3bf67a8c2bb686e12d4fcdfb35836017a1453
  ("Fix test warnings. Closes #39") — switches setUp() to
asyncio.new_event_loop()
  with matching loop.close() cleanups. Upstream issue:
  https://github.com/dano/aioprocessing/issues/47
Suggested action: cherry-pick this commit as a quilt patch.

Debian: same failure reported as https://bugs.debian.org/1123090 (serious; no
fixed upload yet; package was auto-removed from testing on 2026-01-16). Consider
also addressing https://bugs.debian.org/1149001 (flit -> python3-flit
build-dependency) in the same upload.

Note: aioprocessing/pool.py _coro_func still falls back to
asyncio.get_event_loop() when no loop is passed; callers outside a running loop
may hit the same RuntimeError on 3.14.

** Affects: aioprocessing (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
