What is compiz?  Never heard of it.I have removed open office core
(base) and writer which are causing the problem.   I couldn't uninstall
the ENTIRE package of open office because Evolution is a part of it and
I have important data there already.BUT while I have you, perhaps you
can tell me if there is a configuration file for writer that I may
delete or edit to fix the problem.I have done a few more tests and
realize that open office MAY be causing problems with the new 'effects'
that Ubuntu Hardy has.  As it is, that OS is known to be buggy and this
may not be entirely the fault of Open Office, however, it seems to be
persistent with only the Open Office Word Processor.  It seems as if the
word processor is stuck in some kind of 'full screen, no titlebar'
mode.  It is a major inconvenience because with the Ubuntu taskbar
covered, I cannot switch between programs.  The only thing I can do is
ALT-SPACEBAR and select to push it over to the next desktop.  But it is
a pain to do that because it requires 'multiple moves', and it is
something I shouldn't have to do.Anyway, as I said, if there is a
configuration file that I should look at, perhaps we can start there.  I
really don't want to delete the entire package and loose the data I have
in Evolution.Thank You,Geo----- Original Message -----From: Chris Cheney
