Hi all,

I apologize for not getting all of your work released sooner, but Beru has been broken for the last month due to changes in the SDK. But it's working again, I've released a second beta, and I'm committed to a string freeze. Since last communication, there have been two string changes: a slight correction to an existing string and a new string that I missed before (sorry!). Hopefully, this isn't too much of a pain to fix.

After using Beru in Spanish for a bit, I realized that some of the strings are used in places where there is limited space. As a result, the translated strings may overflow. I've added translator comments to those strings and include a guesstimate of how many characters will fit. If any of you would like to go back and check, the relevant English strings are "Back", "Forward", "Contents", "Settings", "Font Scaling", "Line Height", "Margins", "Auto", "Make Default", "Load Default", and "Go". If you find you are unable to get a translation to fit, please let me know and I'll investigate ways to make them degrade gracefully.

Also, there are a large number of translations that need review for French (Canada) and Romanian. If people from those teams could look them over, I'd be much appreciative.

Thank you all for your hard work!

Robert

Hi all,

I've just updated a translation template for Beru, a basic epub reader based on the new Ubuntu SDK: https://translations.launchpad.net/beru. I hoping to make a beta release in a week or two and the 1.0 release shortly thereafter, and I'd love to ship with as many translations as possible.

This is my first time dealing with translations in depth, so please let me know if I've done something wrong, or even just a bit sub-optimal for you.

Thanks,
Robert
