It's part of the Ubuntu UI Toolkit. Unfortunately, it's deprecated
now, so I doubt anyone will be interested in fixing it. At some point,
I'll have to move it away from it, and I'll keep these translation
issues in mind when I do.
I don't use mobile devices, so it's hard for me to give feedback on
concrete layout issues.
I doesn't help that the design of the toolkit is still very much in
flux. By the time we discover these sorts of problems, they've moved
on....
"Auto" is always "Fèin-something" in Gaelic. If I knew what is being
set
here, maybe I could shorten this a bit.
This is on the control with the "Line spacing" label, so "Auto" means
"Automatic line spacing", as opposed to a manually-set value.
Actually, "Default" might be a better word to translate, but that was
too long for the English string. I'll try to explain this further in
the translator comment.
If you can't fit a string in here, I think I'm going to recommend an
em-dash. The pop-up will change from a number to the dash at one end,
and it's color changes as well to indicate the change in behavior. As
the user can see the result of their action as they're doing it, this
should be plenty for them to figure out what's going on, even without a
descriptive string.
