If you wish to have ANY success installing Ubuntu on a Toshiba laptop,
it has to be AT LEAST one full year old.  Let someone else go through
the pain of getting drivers to work.

Since SuSE 11 was able to find the Wi-FI and I was able to get updates
and things loaded on it, I will leave SuSE on that notebook and
continue using Ubuntu on my desktop.  I was trying to get the notebook
ready for travel as I may be leaving on a contract in a couple of
weeks and wanted to be able to work on writing my books in the
evening.
