Hallo Matthew, thank you for your quick response. When my ethernet is connected in open Konqueror and Firefox and http://localhost shows me the site that resides on /var/www. I created something like /var/www/test/test1.html and it worked fine when I called http://localhost/test/test1.html, in both browsers. But as soon as I pull the plug and press reload, Firefox says something like "Firefox is currently in offline mode" and Konqueror complains "cannot find http://localhost/test/test1.html".
