It's wired. I'm sorry it took me so long to read these messages and get back to 
you all. I have a wireless internet panel on the roof that's connected to the 
computer by an ethernet cable. I know the problem is not the cable or panel 
because it is working right now, using Vista. I put in a solaris cd and tried 
it, and it had the same problem- the network connection has been disconnected.
