I gave up on it. I got the correct ip address and all that stuff from
windows. I went back to ubuntu and set up the correct address. It
still did not work. The idea then came to me to try open solaris
again, even though it said it was disconnected the time I tried it
before. The internet worked, with a slightly different address. I
installed it in place of ubuntu and it worked Saturday night and
Sunday. Monday morning it was disconnected. Reason: DCSH or DSCH or
whatever it was had timed out. So I'm back to Vista again. It will
connect to the internet.
