the problem is then you have an obligation to record any logs accurately, store them securely, and possibly make them available to the authorities if they come and ask. so I would suggest you ensure you *could* if you need to start recording logs, but *don't* initially so as to avoid liabilities for snooping on and interfering with third parties' communications.
