Thanks, Tim. So my issue with that route was that they have to replace the entire base chassis, as the keyboard is part of the unibody enclosure. This means booking it into the service centre, for about 3 days to assess, and a week to repair (in South Africa, at least).
I couldn't be asked :-)... but certainly an option for those who don't mind. Mark.
