On both the laptop and the server, it looks normal - the server has 2 network interfaces and both are listed, ETH0 link is up. The laptop only shows ETH0, but it's link is up too > Also, if you run "lspci -n", what do you see? (I only care about the > lines for devices of "Class 0200".) On the server, 2 are shown: 02:00 1434:1648 (rev 02) & 02:01 1434:1648 (rev 02) On the laptop, only 1e: 02:00 1434:16a6 (rev 02) A bit more info: My testing above is with the laptop in it's docking station. It works fine undocked. Both of these items are the only ones I tested that had multiple network interfaces 2 in the server and the laptop has an internal one as well as the docking station. I tried both interfaces on the server, but it didn't even recognize that ETH1 link was up. When the laptop is docked, the internal interface is disabled, but it's possible there was enough there to confuse it.
