14e4 is correct in both cases. I tried the 0.1 release with the same results, except I could see where it was trying DHCP on ETH1/2. On the laptop it failed (no such device). On the server, ETH1 failed just like ETH0 (even when I had the cable plugged into ETH1). Note: both machines can get a lease just fine when booted into Windows. Also, FYI, I booted a Knoppix 3.3 CD on both machines and got the same results as your image - the hardware is detected, it recognizes that the link is up, but it fails to get a lease. -----Original Message----- From: Patrick J. This could be explained by not having a DHCP server (or a cable) on the device Linux calls "eth0". The 0.1 release might help. > On the laptop, only 1e: > 02:00 1434:16a6 (rev 02) Only one is listed even when it is in the docking station? Hm. Also, are you sure about 16a6 (again assuming you meant 14e4:...)? That would imply that your laptop has a gigabit ethernet card. Cool. Please let me know if 0.1 fixes either or both of these machines. - Pat ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now.
