I get the same failure.  Thank you.

This definitely has something to do with the depth of the directory
structure, or possibly just the total length of the name.  If I move
the "IA32" directory up one level, the installation completes without
error.

Experimenting with dosemu, it looks like I cannot create deep
directory structures.  I am still working on characterizing the
problem well enough to submit a bug report.
