The CD was a german Windows 2000 without service pack and in addition to the errors from my other mail I got the following errors during the update/software installation part: Running: auconfig.pl --day 0 --time 3 --wait 10 4 Unable to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/WindowsUpdate/Auto Update/ at Z:\bin\auconfig.pl line 227. auconfig.pl --day 0 --time 3 --wait 10 4 failed, status 255 (0) A)bort R)etry I)gnore ? After pressing "Ignore" the service pack 4 was installed. The solution to this problem might be to move the Windows Update configuration after the Windows Updates are installed. Running: Z:\updates\journalviewer\JournalViewer1.5_KB886179_deu.exe /q /r:n .reboot-on 194 Z:\updates\journalviewer\JournalViewer1.5_KB886179_deu.exe /q /r:n failed, status 106 (0) A)bort R)etry I)gnore ? The file was present during installation so its at least not a "missing file" error. Pressing "Ignore" let the installation continue without any further problems.
