#58: inconsistencies in flash.bat / ie7.bat / shockwave.bat ----------------------+----------------------------------------------------- Reporter: sebi-m | Owner: Type: defect | Status: new Priority: minor | Milestone: 4.9 Component: packages | Version: 4.8 Keywords: | ----------------------+-----------------------------------------------------
Comment(by sebi-m): As far as I can tell, as there are two packages for Flash, one for IE / Windows, and one for Firefox, Opera and so on. You should always update the IE / Windows Flash, because of the security holes imposed from an outdated Flash plugin and that you won't rip out IE from your system. The Firefox-version is not installed when no Firefox is found. It does no harm to download and install both in my opinion. The problem with the Flash version in ie7.bat is, that it is unversioned. You can't update the Flash version, because you only check for the file's presence and don't download it again if it is there. So you will always have the old Flash version, downloaded the first time you run "./prepare". -- Ticket URL: <http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/unattended/ticket/58#comment:2> Unattended <https://apps.sourceforge.net/trac/unattended/> This is a system for fully automating the installation of Windows 2000 Professional and Server, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Enable your software for Intel(R) Active Management Technology to meet the growing manageability and security demands of your customers.
