I know it is OT, but anyway (it is not everyday I use my hard

If what I remember from when I did my Masters in Business 
Administration and Commercial Law is correct, then according to the 
Berne Convention's article 2, section 5 compiled lists can be covered 
by copyright if the effort in compiling them constitute an intellectual 
creation. 

Besides this some countries have a specific rule that covers lists, if 
they require a substantial investment and/or have a large amount of 
informations. (I think it is � 71 in the danish copyright law.)

The form a work have dont really matters when it comes to copyright.
