Beverlee, in her great wisdom, wrote, "Maybe Lesson Study has been slow to 
grow here because instructional decision-making has been so diminished in 
language arts that our teachers have stopped "reaching" for improved 
practice."

I want to respond in agreement, but I simply can't applaud loudly enough.  I 
would insert 'professional growth' or 'teacher learning' or any one of wide 
variety of ways we learn where you have 'Lesson Study,' but apples are 
apples.  We need to be professionals making decisions about instruction and 
learning.
