Well wait a darn minute there young man! The village elders are just supposed to KNOW
the stories and sit around all day spouting them, whether anyone's listening or not.
Other people are supposed to suddenly realize that the irreplaceable cultural legacy
is nearing its final sunset and scramble to COLLECT the loot into books with copious
footnotes and Freudian analyses.
Now where are all those eager young grad students with tape-recorders?
