Along with the other valuable pointers, I will state that Icon has a very
nice 2 page reference sheet,
and that the core of Icon has been summarized well in a single chapter a
time or two, in Griswold's
"Graphics Programming in Icon" the core language is hit nicely before going
on to graphics, and
then in the Handbook of Programming Languages, Griswold did one of his
clearest descriptions of
the core of Icon.
As for Unicon, I have started a Unicon for total newbies book a time or two
but not published it,
and that is rather different from a Unicon for programmers book. There is
the Unicon language
reference, a long-ish technical report that is an extract from the Unicon
book.
Basically, for both Icon and Unicon, there are appendices that summarize the
core syntax
constructs and built-in function sets, I would look for those appendices.
