NOPE !
This gate valve regulates how much water is sent through your exhaust
system. I have seen some where it is dumping most out before exh, and
some where the exh. is running lots of water. The next time I am at
the boat I will count turns. I think mine are set 3 turns from closed.
Possibly before I can do that a real diesel guy will pop up. I am
still trying to become one. I bet Werner at JT (Johnson & Towers)
will tell you. I know the flow of water is D***N importaint, as I had
a Chevy powered boat catch the PVC exhaust pipe on fire before the
engine temp guage noticed it when the water pump crapped out .
