NOPE ! This gate valve regulates how much water is sent through your exhaust system. I have seen some where it is dumping most out before exh, and some where the exh. is running lots of water. The next time I am at the boat I will count turns. I think mine are set 3 turns from closed. Possibly before I can do that a real diesel guy will pop up. I am still trying to become one. I bet Werner at JT (Johnson & Towers) will tell you. I know the flow of water is D***N importaint, as I had a Chevy powered boat catch the PVC exhaust pipe on fire before the engine temp guage noticed it when the water pump crapped out . http://www.johnsontowers.com/?fa=contactUs JT Special Parts and Accessories Contact Chris Breisacher 856-234-6990 Sales Contacts: Bob Shomo 856-234-6990 Let us know what you find out.
