The official blister problem years are 1975 to 1982. HOWEVER,
according to numerous people who worked at Uniflite, and who I've
talked to personally, there were a few 1975 boats that didn't have
blisters, and this is why....

Uniflite always kept a completed hull in each mold to maintain the
molds form/shape (another Uniflite example of quality craftsmenship).
So if they needed to build a boat, there was always a hull in the mold
ready to go. So they would pop it out to build the boat and then
immediately the fiberglass guys would layup a hull in the empty mold.
And depending on the model, it could be weeks or months before the
hull sitting in the mold was popped out and used.

So a hull that was layed up (constructed) in the fall/winter of 1974,
could easily have remained in the mold until spring of 1975, and then
used on a boat sold as a "1975 model". Especially in models like the
Mega, or other less popular models that had a slower production cycle
because of lower demand. So in those cases you would have a 1975
without blisters.

And there you have it. The long and short of it is this...it is the
build date of the hull, topsides, decks etc. etc. that determines if
you have a "blister" boat.

Lastly, there is no "permanent solution" for fixing blister boats. If
a yard tells you that, they haven't done their homework. :0)
