Hey All,

I found out the hard way this weekend that my windlass is slipping. It is
the first time I have anchored out since I bought the boat a little over a
month ago. I had 75ft of chain out and have a 45lb CQR anchor on her. I
had to pull it up by hand. Ugh. It's a 42ft ACMY with a Ideal vertical
windlass on it that I assume is stock. I think the clutches are slipping.
I checked out the Ideal Windlass website and they had a FAQ. They mentioned
a Capstan Wrench for trying to tighten the clutches. The top of the Capstan
on my windlass has two small offset holes off center. Not a nut or
something you might typically see. Can someone tell me what kind of tool I
might need to tighten it? And if I tighten it and it still slips does
anyone know a place where I can get the clutches replaced? We are headed to
the San Juans at the end of June and were planning on swinging from the hook
the majority of the time. No way am I doing that without a windlass! :)

Thanks,
