We have all been there, believe me.
My favorite adventure was opening day of boating season with a 25 knot southerly. Another boat pulled anchor grabbed me and we pulled anchor. We then caught someones stern anchor line around the shaft and went drifting into the race lanes during a crew race. The other guy took off. The only good thing to happen was I was able to raise the stern anchor by putting the engine in gear.Forward -raise the anchor, reverse- lower the anchor. We then smartly cruised right up the center of the race on one engine and limped to a friends house on lake Washington to cut free. Amazing there was no permanent damage accept to our egos. And I was sober.........
