Dear God. There's one for the Dreaded Previous Owner archive. I'm with Rich - I have an Onan MCCK 6.5 and am totally impressed with its robust construction, relatively quiet running (compared to Koehlers of the era - woof!), smoothness (boxer twin, like a BMW motorcycle), and ease of maintenance, though Rich hit the nail on the head about parts availability. And the 6.5 kW rating is massive overkill. The on-board wiring is set up for 30 amp service, which is 3,600 watts. 6.5 kilowatts means the genset will never be overloaded. Too many builders cut corners, even back then. A friend of mine has a 1963 Chris-Craft 50-foot flushdeck, with the original 4 kW Koehler, which is always running on the ragged edge of overloading. Yay, Uniflite. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "UnifliteWorld" group.
