When I put on new risers and exhaust manifolds, my white smoke (i.e.

Mike,

I'd take the other route, the one you mentioned.  I don't know about the
white smoke, but a clogged or partially clogged filter (?) could cause
the other symptoms.  Running lean could increase the operating
temperature.  I'd change the fuel filter on that engine.

took my 32 ss out for some tubing with the kids today and had some
issues with my starboard engine. I have marine power 350's with a
little over 500 hours on them that are about 4 years old. Here is what
I noticed, 1) more white smoke than usual coming out of exaust; 2)
temps running a little hotter, that engine normally runs 140-150 but
was showing about  165 3) engine was cutting in and out, you could see
the tach running from 3200, down to 2000 like it was running out of
gas but would reengage again. It was also doing it when we were
running straight, so it wasnt because I was doing 360's.  Tank was
showing at least 30% full.

second day in a row with tubing....could it be some crap from the
bottom of the tank got stirred up? So should i be looking at fuel
filter, then fuel pump? There is no noise coming from the engines,
they sound good.
