check the fluid levels in each battery and cell. You can get a fluid tester for
3 or 4 dallars at most auto parts stores.

Subject: [UnifliteWorld] Hard starting Detroits when warm

Hey All,

Like the title says, my Detroit 671's are VERY hard starting when warm.  As
in...one wouldn't even restart.  I had to go through the Ballard Locks this
weekend with just a Starboard engine. (NOT FUN)  My batteries are brand new
this season and I know they are fine.  Unless the block heaters are on (even
during the summer), the engines turn over extremely slow and are getter harder
to start.  But when they are fully warmed up they are nearly impossible to
start and the engines turn over very slowly.  My first thought is that I either
need to have my starters rebuilt or replaced.  Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks,

Kerry
