Usually Uniflite left at least 3/4 inch of bolt exposed do not use vise grips it will damage threads use two nuts above on the exposed thread and tighten them together then use those nuts to hold the bolt while you tighten the lower bolt then lock down the lower one with the second nut should be two nuts on each bolt.
